Rediscovering Mt. Pinatubo, again and again!

Five years ago I found myself trekking the 7km long trail to the crater of Mt. Pinatubo. I was with my colleagues. It was a misty and rough, wet and dangerous trek. Much, I would say but that was in Capas, Tarlac and this is Botolan Zambales now. Pictures below were some of those we took in 2012.

Fast forward to 2017. Same old, the road was rough, dusty, from time to time misty as rainy season had befallen the trails toward the crater. January, I came back with my travel buddy and her sister after I had long promised that I wouldn't go back and venture that rough road I had traveled before. This time our route was through Botolan, Zambales.

"Sometimes, we dared travel the same road because it's not anymore about the destination, it's about the people you travel with that makes the journey worth re-taking." This I often use to convince myself.

Because it was a trip that my friend organized, I did not realize that the jump off point was different from my first trip back in 2012 so I asked the guide. Unfortunately, he seemed unaware that I was talking about Capas' trail. Little did I know that it was Capas, until I revisited my old photos where we took some in Capas Death March Memorial.
I definitely preferred Botolan trail because of over the mountain top view. It was scenic and serene.

Capping the year off, I again visited the famous volcano.

Just another day...

I'm up to nothing, really.
Passing time.
Revisiting old messages.
Old friends', that was.
Picking up from where this account had stopped.

A lot has happened I still felt the hatred.
People have moved on.
It has been 5 years since then.
What a sad story to tell.

Impulsive Trip to Singapore

How to create a smartly looking journal? Start off with a trivia and segue, like this one: "Having been hailed as the world's costliest city to live in for about 4 years in a row ,according to the latest Worldwide Cost of Living Report of 2017, never had I imagined I would be traveling to Singapore to spend my hard earned money." Oops!

Kidding aside, with that in mind and my points of interest directing away from SG, it never occurred to me that I'd be going there sooner. I'd been planning to go to Japan as a bit of a fact. So the reason for me to go to Singapore is to be revealed in the the following paragraphs.<suspense here>

First up. Being an impulsive person as I am, I booked a flight to Singapore on March and flew on April 28 for a 5day vacation, (3 full days), on a regular fare (I have to note the last part because I was actually on a tight budget).

I brought Jaeger (it's a car) and parked in a nearby establishment that served free shuttle back and forth to NAIA terminal 3, any terminal actually at anytime, no reservations needed. Left my car there, hopped to shuttle that dropped me off at departure area Bay 4. It felt like a VIP; the kind chauffeur awaited, opened the door, alight my bag and greeted me when we head off, small talks, and did the same way when I went off.

Surprisingly, even though the sun sets later in SG than in PH, there's no time difference between the two countries.

After an excruciating 3 hrs and 40mins air travel time, we landed at Changi International Airport safely and hungrily (I didn't know about others but as for me, I was starving).

As I flew alone, I had arranged the things I must do once I landed and that was about how to contact the only reason I was in Singapore.

I looked for kiosk that would provide me a WiFi. First I would need to scan my passport and voila it gave me a passcode to key in to the airport public WiFi. It enabled me 1 to 3 hours free wifi access. As I was amazed by the glamour of the world's best airport I found myself fizzled out in the midst of children filing up the queue to immigration.

<insert/>I remembered setting a portion of my time just to look around the airport. I heard there are plant sanctuaries, massage and movie lounge areas that are being visited upon by locals and passengers alike. Due to time constraint and lots of things I must do here, I postponed it for future visits. I think I would need a whole day to explore the airport alone.</insert>

Met this guy awaiting me since an hour ago and of course is the reason why I went to Singapore.
First night we opted to meet my college friend who works in Singapore and the rendezvous?
Gardens by the Bay!

Had to take as much photos as we could 😂
Taking much photos while we own the night!

Oops gotta have the evidence that we met in SG! Honestly ate Fely, how far is your house in PH that we have to meet here?!
Dinner would be served soon!
Food is right about now!
Before we parted gotta have that photo. ;)
What a tiring day and it was time to go home.

My pamphlet's upside down :p

where was I lookin' at?👌👍

I L💓💓💓💓💓💓VE this photo

Birds have the best view, agree? 🐦🐦

The weather was unpredictable; it was gloomy and would rain one time and sunny some other time of the day. We found littlest things and found an opportunity to take photos. I mean photos, it's plural.

Welcome to Sentosaaaaaa!

Gotta have a photo at the escalator, I mean, really.

We were not at the main attraction yet!

But I think I have enjoyed it thus far.

There weren't much people around, really. They just happened to be at the back. I mean, the few of them!

How long are you gonna be standing there?

I was thinking... <see below>

<insert>I remembered on my other trips, I did not take as much photos as I could and regret it afterwards 😢. Not only for places I had been to but for people I had met and nothing for keepsake. Moreover, I regret taking too much photos that I missed musing myself at the real thing in front of me. A second would pass by and it's a different thing in front of you, as much as you cannot touch the same water twice. That's how fast paced the thing we so called life is and all I could do is appreciate it when it's there and the proof that it exists are my photos 📸📸📸.</insert>

We spent more than half an hour playing on this site.
My favorite photo of us. 💞💕
You should know what this means Decepticons!

The face after that thrilling ride aaaaand an hour and a half falling in line for that! Worth it!
This bunch of food cost us around 45 SGD.

More photos coming right up!

Chillin'

Gotta have this photo taken similar to the one I had at Avenue of Stars in HK.

My nose is not pointed so I guess Im not a liar..😎
Good thing I have instagram boyfie very willing to take a photo of myself.

Solomon Hart & Sons
Marlyn and Michael
Waterworld! Oops, you should watch out for seats in blue, green and brown for here you will be intentionally get splashed on! I saw some audience put on raincoats and brought umbrella. They were very cooperative and didn't mind some drizzles.

Anywhere with this guy.

Skyline Luge! The queue would take an hour and a half to see the end. Couldn't take a photo while in it because it was prohibited. Not sure if you had action camera mounted on your helmet would they allow it. One thing's for sure, you cannot let your other hand off the handles of luge or you'd find yourself at the gutter.

Off the shore we waited until sunset and until Wings of Time started. The show's gonna start!

Gotta have a sunset shot!

The show's about to start!

The fountain show was about 15mins and I enjoyed it. While watching I was thinking that whoever thought of this was creative at the same time innovative having to utilize the sea as the medium and the shore as the venue. The place has several gates to accommodate several visitors coming in and out of the venue. Do not forget that it was under the moonlight and cool breeze were coming from the shore.

Time to go! Bye Sentosa!
Gotta have some Laksa and since instagram boyfie has bottomless stomach I would give him what I could not finish. Uh, craving for it now. This was how we capped our day 1.

The following day we were about to meet my friend from other group of friends at Bugis Junction. I met her when I studied Korean Language in UP-D. Last time we met was when they paid a surprise visit to my newly built unit some 3years ago. It was nice to have met her again in a different place. Seriously people, it didn't have to be a place elsewhere to do catching ups!

So it was girls time! We talked over Bingsu, did some 'how are you's, what-brought-you-here stuffs.
She accompanied me at Bugis to buy some stuffs I could bring back home.

Then off we went to Chijmes and some photos. I was told that it has amazing reflections of lights at night that night photography would be best if you visit the place. There's also restaurant for romantic dinner and stuff around the church.

Next up, Haji Lane. For millenials and the like this place is a nice place to visit. You'd have more to satisfy your cravings for IG worthy pictures. As a bit of a painful fact, we waited half an hour just to have a chance of taking photos of ourselves on this mural.

That pillows are on point!

No doubt!

I remembered a similar place when I visited Melaka in Malaysia. Some street nearby Jonker street there were houses of similar genre, selling crafts, some old town restaurants and cafe.

Soon thereafter we headed to Bayfront to see the iconic Marina Bay sands, the ArtScience Museum (lotus-shaped), the helix bridge, the Singapore Flyer, Esplanade Theater (durian shaped) and the Merlion. Judging by the crowd of tourists on the site, this is a must-visit place as if you haven't been to Singapore if you haven't visited the place. Of course, the mandatory shot.

My friend jokingly asked if I would cres open my mouth and for a second I wondered why. I just leave it to the crowd to do that part.

At the other end of the bay there's Makansutra Gluttons Bay where a variety of Asian foods are being cooked and sold on stalls. We waited at least an hour to be seated and another 30mins be served with food that we ordered for around 50 SGD, full and satisfied for the 3 of us.

Third day and we're headed to Botanic Gardens Flower Dome where Tulipmania 2017 inspired by Vincent Van Gogh was held which lasted until first week of May. Lucky enough we witnessed different varieties of tulips and colorful flowers on display with the likes of Van Gogh's paintings.

View of Marina Bay Sands from Chines Garden inside Super Tree Grove
Not far from where I stood, I saw a middle aged lady creating an eternal version of the tulips in front of her. I was amazed by the stroke of her brush on the canvas I wondered why I could not do the same hahaha.

Soon we entered the Cloud Forest with large man made waterfall and vertical gardens. The temperature inside was cold enough to breed the orchids of different variants. It imitates the rain forest and it was kind of refreshing as the temperature outside was ablaze.

Afterwards we took a time to simmer the rest of the day in Gardens by the Bay where we watched the light show came nightfall under the sky full of stars while laid down on the grass.

That wraps up my tour on Singapore! I left but my heart still remains where this guy is. See you around, soon!

Back to where we started!
